DRAWING ROOM LISBON 2020
After two successful editions, Drawing Room Lisbon adapts its edition this year to a face-to-face fair where works from national galleries and artists are represented and marketed, with an online version where international galleries join in, thus contributing to the revitalization of the Contemporary Art of Drawing market and fostering new business opportunities. Following all the rules of the DGS, (General Directorate for Health) the Fair will take place from 14th to 18th October, at the National Society of Fine Arts.
The highlight of the fair this year will be on Contemporary Portuguese design, prioritising the space for national galleries and artists, as well as some Spanish galleries in recognition of the fair’s “Drawing Room” counterpart in Madrid. International Galleries will be present in an online complement to the Fair, where contemporary art collectors can explore the selection of works that the participating galleries have prepared for this digital project. Accompanying programmes will also take place, mainly in digital or live format.
Drawing Room 2020 will also give space and voice to artists without a gallery with invited curatorship of a collective exhibition of works available for sale, contributing to both the cultural and commercial recognition of the creative work of a generation of artists. The usual editorial space will also be maintained, in digital version, for the launch of editions and multiples.
Committed to promoting drawing and artists, The Drawing Room provides a pioneer platform for the valorisation and commercialization of drawing. Collectors, professionals and art lovers are invited to discover and enjoy the panorama of Contemporary Art, – including a new generation of artists who use drawing as their preferred medium and who are undeniably devoted to the drawings of the great masters.
