With visual work of an interventionist nature since the 1940s, Cruzeiro Seixas established the Surrealist Group with Mário Cesariny and António Maria Lisboa.. He was a member of SNBA, where he exhibited on numerous occasions, including such highlights as his retrospective (1982) in the Salon, and “The Comprehensive Surrealism” exhibition, organized by the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation / Surrealism Studies Centre, in 2005.
